Job Description
The ideal candidate is a fluent android developer that is capable of implementing both front end and back end code. This person is great at analyzing information and problem-solving and is generally curious. This person possesses programming skills, software design, development, and debugging skills, and is able to document and meet software requirements.
For this internship, you will be signed on for a 4-month term where you work with the LUCID team on an R&D project using a private and newly implemented 5G network. The compensation for this term will be $15,000, paid over weekly paycheques with CRA deductions. This internship and the 5G project is being done in collaboration with the Ontario Centres of Excellence.
Your responsibilities as an Android Developer (Intern) will be:
Build an Android version of our existing iOS mobile application “Vibe” using the specifications laid out by the LUCID product team.
Work with the team in the creation of new application features using a newly built 5G network (government program).
Deploy this modified Vibe-5G build on specified 5G devices and work with the team to conduct a series of tests on the MaRS 5G Testbed.
Developing good code, clean designs and well-organized documentation that improves knowledge translation between members of the organization.

Qualifications
A current student or recent graduate from an Ontario-based university in the field of engineering or computer science.
Highly proficiency with the Android software development
The ability to work with a UI designer to implement front-end code on Android devices.
Working knowledge of application architecture and design patterns
Experience with the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance is preferred
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

To be honest. I think you folks are underpaying. The complexity of the application you're asking for and the skillset necessary to execute this properly requires way more than the $15,000 price you're offering for 4 months of potentially intensive work. If you want a solid app that you can iterate on and not just an MVP which would be a headache to improve on, I'd suggest that you bite the bullet and pay the premium for quality work now. It would save you problems down the road.
